Everything families ask before they move out.

What is Renovation Stay?
Renovation Stay is a move-in ready family home in Weybridge available to households who need somewhere to live while their own home is undergoing a significant renovation, extension or rebuild. It is designed around stays measured in months rather than nights.
Who is it for?
Primarily families renovating in Weybridge and the surrounding Surrey area who want to stay close to school, work, friends and their building project while the work is carried out.
How long can we stay?
The house is offered on a flexible monthly basis, subject to availability and the terms of the rental agreement. Renovation programmes move, so we build as much practical flexibility into the arrangement as we sensibly can.
What happens if our renovation overruns?
Tell us as early as possible. If the house is still available, we will work with you to extend your stay in line with the agreed rental terms. It is one of the main reasons Renovation Stay exists.
What if we finish earlier than expected?
Again, speak to us. The agreement sets out the notice arrangements clearly before you move in, so nobody is guessing.
What does the monthly price include?
£7,500 per calendar month, and it is worth seeing how it is built. On an ordinary long let, a house of this size in Weybridge sits at around £5,500 a month before you have paid for anything else. Add the things you would then be running yourself — council tax of roughly £350, gas and electricity capped at around £250, water at about £30, and a weekly housekeeper and weekly gardener at around £500 — and you are already close to £6,600 with a pile of accounts, standing orders and diary entries attached. Our price rounds that up to one number, adds the check-in and check-out agent and the professional deep clean before and after your stay, and buys the thing an ordinary tenancy will not sell you: the freedom to leave when your build finishes rather than when a fixed term says you may. The remainder is the premium for that flexibility, and most families find it the cheapest line in the renovation.
Can the house be offered fully furnished and kitchen-equipped?
Our preference is that it is not. Most families arriving here already own an entire house of furniture that has to go somewhere while the builders are in, and this house is deliberately set up so that it can come straight in — with sheds, a converted garage and a loft for whatever does not. Move-in ready means the fixed, awkward things are already here: white goods, washer and dryer, beds and wardrobes, TVs, and blinds or curtains throughout. If your circumstances genuinely call for a fully furnished and fully equipped house, tell us when you enquire and we will discuss it — it can usually be arranged, but it carries a separate upfront fee.
Is there a holding deposit?
Yes. A deposit equal to six weeks' rent — £10,000 — is payable before the start of the stay. It is protected in a government-approved tenancy deposit protection scheme where the arrangement falls within the Housing Act 2004 rules, and you will be given the scheme's prescribed information and deposit certificate within the statutory timescale. It is returned at the end of the stay less any sums agreed in accordance with the rental agreement.
Can children stay?
Absolutely. It is a family home, and it is used to family life.
What about pets?
Pets are welcome by agreement. Tell us about them when you enquire and we will talk it through.
Why do you ask about our builder?
Because the accommodation dates and the construction programme are connected. Where useful, and with your agreement, we may speak to your builder, architect or project manager so that everyone has a realistic understanding of the likely dates. It is intended to make the process simpler, not more complicated.
Do we pay when we enquire?
No. Send us your expected dates and a little information about your renovation. We speak first. Nothing is agreed or payable simply because you have submitted an enquiry.
Where is the house?
Weybridge, Surrey — convenient for households renovating in Weybridge, Oatlands, St George's Hill, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, Cobham, Byfleet, Shepperton and nearby areas, and within reach of Weybridge station for the Waterloo line.
Can we view it?
Yes. If the dates and circumstances look like a potential fit, we can arrange a viewing or a call.
